The All-New 2023 Acura Integra

The modernization of classic nameplates is hot these days – from the retro Dodge models of the early century to the resurgence of names like Bronco and Wagoneer into the market, the past is coming back.

Acura is no stranger to this, reinventing the classic NSX supercar for a recent run. Now, for the driver looking for that Acura sportiness and luxury but not at quite that high of a price point, Acura is bringing back a familiar name – the Integra!

A massive success in the 80s and 90s, the luxury take on the Honda Civic made Car and Driver magazine’s Ten Best list six times, including four years straight. Now, new for 2023, the Acura Integra returns!

Performance Features

Under the hood of the 2023 Acura Integra is a pretty familiar package. The turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four-cylinder VTEC engine is the same as you’ll find in the Civic Si, but turned up to 11. This edition lays down a peppy 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. The standard continuously variable transmission does well, but the driving enthusiast will want to hunt down a model featuring the six-speed manual transmission with limited-slip differential. While the base suspension is more than willing to tackle performance driving, the optional adaptive suspension system and the available Individual drive mode addition to the drive-mode selector provide increased responsiveness and performance. The Integra is expected to see 27 MPG city and 37 MPG highway, in line with the Si.

Style and Technology

Echoing some of the lines of the four-door Civic but with a distinct sporty twist, the 2023 Acura Integra makes a small four-door sedan a sport icon. The rear liftback combines the best parts of a hatchback with the best parts of a traditional trunk. It helps to highlight the aggressive rear fascia with dual exhaust finishers, all above the wide, sporty stance. Up front, the Integra sits low, and features an intricate frameless Diamond Pentagon grille straddled by narrowed headlights, all under a hood with a sharp central hood line. 17-inch wheels are standard, with 18-inch wheels available.

The inside of the Integra looks right in line with the rest of Acura’s lineup. It’s a roomy cabin, with standard synthetic leather-trimmed seats that feature heated front seats, and offers 8-way power adjustability for the driver. While the rear seats may be a little tight for larger passengers on longer rides, they’ll do on shorter rides, and kids and teens will have plenty of space.

Wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration is standard across the Integra model line-up, with the top trim level offering wireless integration - get the most out of your smartphone while on the road. A single USB port is standard, along with an 8-speaker premium audio system, centered on the 7-inch dash-mounted touchscreen display. A larger 9-inch display is offered that features integrated Amazon Alexa, along with the ELS Studio 3D premium audio system.

Safety

The AcuraWatch suite of safety and drive assistive technologies is standard on all new 2023 Acura Integra models. Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow is at the center of this system, featuring Forward Collision Warning to monitor traffic to the front. Lane Keeping Assist System and Road Departure Mitigation with Lane Departure Warning help keep the Integra between the lines. Blind Spot Information System with Rear Cross Traffic Monitoring, which is optional on many entry-level vehicles, is standard across the Integra lineup.

Trim Levels

The 2023 Acura Integra doesn’t play around with a ton of trim levels – only three are offered.

The base model simply called the Integra features power conveniences and accessories. 17-inch wheels and new Chicane LED tail lights and Daytime Running Lights dress up the exterior, while the standard power moonroof with tilt feature helps to open up the cabin. The 3-mode Integrated Dynamic System (IDS) allows the driver to select between Comfort, Normal, and Sport modes to tune their driving experience to their liking.

Stepping up to the A-Spec trim brings a sport appearance package featuring gloss-black window trim, an upgraded front fascia, LED fog lights, and upgraded 18-inch alloy wheels. The appearance package also adds a rakish rear lip spoiler. The features are the same as the base model.

Topping it all off is the A-Spec with Technology trim. The name is misleading – this is also a great trim level for the driving enthusiast, as it is the only trim where you can get the available six-speed manual transmission! The interior receives microsuede inserts and the front passenger’s seat gets power adjustability, all surrounded by ambient lighting for a sense of luxury. The driver’s seat is upgraded to 12-way power adjustability as well. The tech upgrades throughout the trim includes the larger 9-inch touchscreen, three more USB ports, a 5.3-inch head-up display, and a wireless smartphone charging pad. Topping it all off is the 16-speakers ELS Studio 3D stereo system.
